Sometimes you see things you don’t want to see.

March 30, 2013

Sometimes you see things you don’t want to see.

You see more from the seat of a bicycle…

Yesterday I saw families picnicking in the park, throwing frisbees, kicking footballs, kicking-back on an Easter long-weekend. I saw policemen, police cars, a police helicopter, and that was cool – even 47 year old boys like that stuff. I started to enjoy my ride less at the sight of police with listening devices, police covered from head-to-toe in mud and a waiting ambulance at the end of a suburban cul-de-sac.

Then I saw a five year old child wrapped in a hi-vis jacket. He was being carried by a policeman, cradled in his arms, held with care, held with love like he was still alive.
